Job Description/Essential Functions:

Horizon House, Inc. is a nationally recognized provider of services to adults with support needs due to developmental disabilities, behavioral health issues, and substance abuse. Horizon House is Pennsylvania’s oldest psychiatric rehabilitation agency. Since 1952, we have been dedicated to helping people with mental illness, drug and alcohol addictions, developmental/intellectual disabilities, and homelessness to stabilize their lives and to help them live as independently as possible in the community. With over 100 locations throughout South and North Eastern Pennsylvania and the state of Delaware, Horizon House provides services to a diverse population focusing on individual strength and choice. Currently, we are seeking a full time Administrative Assistant to work in our Behavioral Health Services Division.

We are seeking qualified candidates for the position of Administrative AssistantThe position has responsibility to ensure and coordinate the general operations at a program site through the provision of administrative services and supports. As well as maintaining program records, reports, and files in compliance with established Agency and contract guidelines.

Other responsibilities include the following:

  • Provide general clerical support and assistance including typing, filing, record keeping, scheduling, inter and intra-agency communications and other related office procedures.
  • Answer telephone and route calls promptly; relay incoming calls to appropriate staff. Greet all visitors and prospective clients, and direct accordingly.
  • Compile data and reports (quarterly and monthly) reflecting service delivery activities.
  • Coordinate petty cash log and disbursement for Supervisor's review.
  • Maintain and update required program site and Agency manuals.
  • Distribute important/confidential mailings and document distribution to and from the site.
Job Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent and at least 2 years of prior office experience; or any combination of experience, education or training that would provide the level of knowledge, skill and ability required.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Accurate typing and computer skills, ability to type 40 wpm.
  • Working knowledge of basic office machinery.
  • Ability to work independently.

Scope:

  • Requires sitting for long periods of time.
  • Light lifting and/or carrying, not to exceed 25 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Frequent talking and listening.
