Job Description/Essential Functions:

Horizon House, Inc. is a nationally recognized provider of services to adults with support needs due to developmental disabilities, behavioral health issues, and substance abuse. Horizon House is Pennsylvania’s oldest psychiatric rehabilitation agency. Since 1952, we have been dedicated to helping people with mental illness, drug and alcohol addictions, developmental/intellectual disabilities, and homelessness to stabilize their lives and to help them live as independently as possible in the community. With over 100 locations throughout South and North Eastern Pennsylvania and the state of Delaware, Horizon House provides services to a diverse population focusing on individual strength and choice.

We are seeking a Director to oversee the implementation of a residential substance abuse recovery program. The Director will provide clinical and regulatory oversight to the team and support education, counseling and guidance to participants in the recovery process. Some of  the duties include:

*  Maintaining the facility census by networking with established or potential referral souces.
*  Monitoring participant treatment plans and discuss with staff, review participant concerns regarding both individual and program needs.
*  Paricipating in the planning and development of systems in order to maintain the residential site to assure compliance with licensing requirements.
*  Overseeing the administration of medications consistent with participants' medication plan in accordance with state and agency medication administration regulations.
*  Inventory medications and complete appropriate documentation.
*  Coordinating case conferences and staff meetings as needed.
*  Conducting quality improvement surveys.
*  Oversee the maintenance of all site equipment.
*  Supervising Clinical staff and para-professionals.

Job Qualifications:

*  Masters Degree in Social Services/Counseling psychology or a related field preferred. Bachelors degree required, at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
*  Very good communication skills
*  Ability to work independently and as  part of a team
*  Good organizational skills
*  Knowledge of multiple support systems for substance abusers.

Credentialed as follows: Certified Peer Specialist Supervisor (CPSS) through the Department of State or Pennsylvania Certification Board’s (PCB) or Certified Allied Addiction *  Practitioner (CAAP), Certified Associate Addition Counselor (CAAC) or actively “working towards” Licensure or Certification through PCB once hired.
*  If working towards” Licensure or certification, it must be evidenced by valid entries logged  on the “Supervision Documentation Form” and  maintained in the employee’s file
     that include hours worked, hours clinically supervised and required training needed to qualify for full licensure or certification as per the PA Department of State or PCB.

*  Completion of the Department of Drug and Alcohol Program Clinical Supervision Training
*  Very good communication skills
*  Ability to work independently and as part of a team
*  Ability to maintain daily productivity standards
*  Fee-for-service and electronic health record experience strongly preferred.
*  Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.


*  Frequent talking and listening
*  Required ability to lift, carry, fold, kneel, reach, stack, stoop, climb stairs and bend which may include direct intervention with participants.
*  Must be available for local travel.
*  Possess manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
*  May require crisis intervention for emergency situations
*  May be required to report to work during emergencies including inclement weather.
*  Must be available for local travel and work flexible hours.
*  May be required to attend training to become a certified agency investigator.
